If a commercial ASP component meets the following criteria, we will install it for you. There is no code review fee for commercial components written by established third party vendors.

1) The vendor must be established and have full contact information prominently displayed on their web site.

2) The COM component must run in COM+ services and cannot require to be installed using REGSVR32.

3) If the COM objects is written in VB, it must be compiled with the following options:

  a) Apartment threaded
  b) Retain in memory
  c) Unattended execution

  All components built with VB will be checked to ensure these options have been selected during compilation.

4) The COM component cannot use a significant amount of resources, such as RAM, CPU, etc.

5) The COM component must be safe for Internet use and meet our security requirements. It must run in the context of IUSR, it cannot have any security leaks such as buffer overruns, etc., and in the event a security flaw is discovered it will be promptly disabled.
